Making Cereal

Although it is more work than picking up a box of cereal from a shelf, I made some pretty tasty cereal today and I'll probably be making it again. It's pretty easy and is pretty healthy for you.

4 cups of oats
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
2 tbs cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cup almonds (sliced, chopped, whatever)
1 cup walnuts
Vanilla (to taste)


First you want to slice your almonds if you didn't buy them that way.

Then in a large bowl you want to mix together your oats, almonds, walnuts, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Set that aside melt your butter and honey and add in your vanilla if you want it in your cereal.

Pour your butter and honey mixture over your oat mix and stir.

Place on a cookie sheet and cook it at 250 for about 70 minutes. I did mine for 275 for 70 minutes and mine turned out a little over done but just by a tad. I think next time I will do it at 250. After it is done just crumble it up and put it in a container.
