I went from having a baby that could roll over but mostly couldn’t go anywhere on her own, to having a child that has discovered how to crawl and find her way into everything. I’m excited she is learning new skills and it is so fun watching her army crawl all over the living room, but man it is a lot of work having a mobile baby - and she’s not even to the walking stage yet! I have a feeling there isn’t very much sitting time in my immediate future.
Yesterday I was in the bathroom painting my nails when my husband started to load some stuff in the car for our vacation (which we are currently in route to as I type! a bit more than 6 hours left to drive). He had just walked out the door and I came into the living room to check in on Norah and she had already found her way to the dog bowls. I walked in just in time to see her using those adorable hands of hers putting a piece of dog food in her mouth. I was faced with a tough choice... stick my still mostly wet nail polish fingers in her mouth which would have not only been gross and not so pleasant for Norah but I hate when my nail smudge when I have just painted them, to fish the food out of her mouth or call to Matt to have him come in and make her give up the dog food she decided she wanted to have for lunch.
I opted to have Matt get the food out. I guess we will be child proofing the house now. I figured it would be a gradual thing and instead she went from not being mobile at all really to getting across the house in 2.45 seconds.
