My Little Girl

Norah did well at her 9 month appointment yesterday. She's right on track with mental development and she got 3 shots and did great with them. She's amazing with the shots! She only cries until she is able to be picked up and she has no fever reactions to them at all.

She is on the small side though. By small side, I mean she is in the 2nd percentile for length. Now I am only about 4'11 and my husband is 5'9 so we are not a tall family. I'm more concerned because her previous stats for length percentage are:
Birth- 67%
2 Months 76%
4 Months Not sure
6 Months 10%
9 Months 2%

So yesterday her length was 25 1/2 (and inch more than her 6 month appointment at least!) and 16lbs, 44cm for her head (50%).

So she has obviously went down dramatically in the percent department. I wouldn't be as concerned if she was staying around the same percent but she started off so high and then her growth has slowed a lot.

Her weight essentially stayed the same from her 6 month appointment. She only went from 15lbs 13oz to 16lbs even. I'm not as concerned about this because she is still a good weight for her height and while this only puts here in the 10-25% range she has been A LOT more active in the last 3 months and I know babies tend to slim down around 9 months.

I'm sad it looks like she is going to get my height. I hate being short. It's annoying have people ask how tall I am, it's so rude. Random people that I casually meet feel the need to ask me how tall I am. Then it's also annoying have to get a chair to reach anything. It's certainly not THAT big of a deal but I just want her to be able to be average height because I know how much I hate being so short. I hope she grows to at least 5'1 though, then she'll have at least 2 inches on me.

The doctor is having us start to give her some vitamin drops to see if that gives her a bit of a boost. She said she isn't too concerned just yet and if she is still at a really low growth percentage at her 1st birthday we'll make sure there isn't another reason (other than genetics) as to why she's growing slowly.
