Baby Yogurt

Norah has a pretty wide range of food she eats (bananas, green beans, beans in general, apples, avocado, chicken, sweet potatoes just to name a few) but she did have a few new foods this weekend while visiting friends. One of the new foods she had was yogurt. I don't eat a lot of yogurt (more of an oatmeal girl) so I hadn't thought much about giving her yogurt, but she did like it :)

We picked her up some Sunday at the store so we can add a bit to her diet and it got me thinking. I might start looking around to see if Yo-Baby is actually the most healthy option for yogurt for her. It's great that is is full fat yogurt but when I got looking at the package it has 12g of sugar in the small one serving container and 60mg of sodium. Norah gets her fair share of sugar from apples, so I'm going to be on a search for a full fat lower sugar yogurt. It's possible that 12g of sugar is the lowest I'm going to find but if there is a lower sugar one out there that still fits the diet needs of a growing 10 month old I hope to find it.

  1. Try Greek yogurt, it only has 5 grams of sugar and I hear her dad loves it in smoothies :)
