Yesterday right after leaving church we were going about 45ish mph and all of the sudden we heard a sound like something hit our car. The husband slowed down and I looked at my side mirror in time to see something black bouncing on the road. That's when it hit me.

Uh babe, that was your phone.
He pulled off to the side of the road and got out and started making his way to it - while I leaned out the car and said something about not freaking out if it was ruined... which of course it would be, we were going 45mph and his phone feel off the roof of our car (he had put it there while strapping the baby in - smooth move babe) and bounced on the road. Thankfully there was no one behind us or someone could have gotten hurt.
I sat there in the car thinking, well I guess Matt is getting a new screen for our anniversary and he possibly may have to toss that new iphone (2 months old) for one of our older backup phones in the house. At about the time I was thinking that he slide back in the driver seat and handed me his phone... which was in one piece, including his screen. There wasn't even a scratch on the screen. In fact the only mark on the phone at all was a small mark at the point of impact where the otterbox he had on it got cut open from the force of hitting the pavement.

I'm now a believer in the otterbox. They might be a bit bulky but I'm pretty sure it just saved us a good chunk of change.
Here is a picture of someone else's phone I found online that also flew off the roof of their car. Thankfully this isn't what happened to ours.
