Yep, That's My Child Screaming

Source

We are now at the stage where we are going to be unable to go to a restaurant without fear of being kicked out. Okay well not quite but close. It's not very enjoyable going out to eat when you spend 90% of your time trying to convience your daughter to not:

A: Throw her dinner on the floor
B: Screech at the top of her lungs because she thinks it is funny
C: Climb out of her chair

I am not someone who is able or willing to ignore her and let her screech loudly, interupting other's dinner. At the same time I'm not really sure how to teach a one year old how to behave while dining out so I think we might end up avoiding places that it isn't okay if she is loud. It's hard because she isn't throwing a fit or crying (if she were I would most certainly take her out of the restaurant to calm her down) it's just that she's active and doesn't want to sit long and wants to "talk" loudly.

In reality I probably heard her most. She wasn't THAT loud and most people could probably hardly hear her but I felt like she was so stinking loud. So suggestions on how to teach a one year old how to behave while eating out? Or do we just forget it (and save ourselves some money haha!) and resume eating out again when she's a bit older?

  1. I find the wanting to run around the trickiest. I generally end up trying to distract my daughter as long as possible with whatever is at the table. It's amazing what one can do with a cup :)

  2. There isn't much you can do at this age. We avoid taking the girls out unless its fast food. Sit down and wait restaurants are just out of the question.
