Children's Ikea table personalization

One of Norah's Christmas presents was a small table and two chairs from Ikea. It's a pretty basic table and there is nothing fancy about it. It wasn't very expensive and so the tabletop is made out of a heavy cardboard of sorts vs. wood. It's the perfect size for her and does what we need it to and we couldn't beat the price. The two biggest complaints I have about it though are that it's extremely lightweight which allows Norah to pick up the chairs and carry them around and that it is pretty boring.

Here is a picture of it as is (You'll have to ignore the Christmas mess):

I decided I wanted to be a bit less boring and figured some fabric would do the trick. While we were out getting fabric for Wesley's Project 365 we picked up some fabric for her table. The table top slips into groves in the wood and at first I had tried to double up the fabric to make it thicker but that just wasn't doing it so I cut it and it fit perfectly.

Here is the finished product:

  2. Turned out great! Ona needs an art table in a bad way. We are always coloring on the floor. ;)
