Living Off the Land...

Okay so we're not REALLY "Living off the land" but we did consume our first spinach from our garden last night :) Can't wait until the beans & tomatoes are ready!

If I could write a note to my pre-garden self (we have a plot at the community garden) it would probably go a little like this:
1. Some weeds have very sharp thorns. They hurt.
2. You will get garden envy, but the other gardeners have been doing this for years. 
3. Carrots are a beast to weed and thin out. Don't plant them. 
4. Put a marker telling you what you planted in that row after the carrots, come July you won't know what it is. 
5. You'll be more excited than necessary when you realize a plant you planted is actually sprouting a vegetable.
