Latest Project

Goodness, you mix the holiday season with a toddler and being pregnant and you get a very sidetracked mama! I haven't abandoned the blog I promise, I've just been so busy (Can you say exhausted?!)

I've done a few projects for Wesley's room but honestly not very much. His birth is really sneaking up on me and I feel so unprepared!

One of the small projects I have done though is Pinterest inspired (of course). I've seen this idea floating around there. Basically you nail a shape/letter/design into a piece of wood and then use yard or twine to fill in the gaps. This was a super cheap project! We bought a board at Home Depot for $2.50 and had them cut it into 3 pieces for us (I used one of the other pieces for a project for him as well). The paint is actually left over from painting our living room (Gray is a common color between his room and our living room) so that didn't cost anything extra. I did buy yarn but it didn't take very much yarn at all.

Anyways, here is how it turned out:

The slicer on my food processor works

Last night I found out that the slicer on my food processor works... especially on my pinky. I was shredding some chicken in my new food processor that I got for Christmas.

I was making this chicken enchiladas recipe that I found on pinterest via the joyful mommas kitchen here (it is great by the way! I've made it several times now.) After shredding the chicken I went to rinse off the double sided shredder/slicer and I somehow sliced the side of my pinky. I apparently wasn't paying enough attention. I looked down and saw blood and yelled to Matt and grabbed my pinky and put pressure on it (which made it hurt a lot less). I'm not really sure why but whenever I hurt myself I don't like to look at it. I think I think if I don't look at it, it makes it not as bad as I imagine :) I finally let Matt look at it and I dripped blood on the kitchen floor... lovely.

Finally I decided I didn't want stitches and bandaged it up and Matt helped me finish dinner. It hurts a bit still but I think I'm going to live :)
