As of yesterday I am 17 weeks pregnant. I can't believe how fast it is going this time around. I've recently started to feel a little bit of movement (few and far between, but there) and I am starting to show. Until a few days ago when I felt a few good movements I forgot there was a baby in there. Okay I have known it is a baby, but up until then I knew I was pregnant but kept forgetting what that meant. I'm so busy keeping up with Norah that I have had a hard time realizing that there is a second child growing in there. I felt this way a little bit with Norah too, but with her, being pregnant was pretty much all I thought about therefore I couldn't really forget :)
This is part of the reason why I like to find out the gender. It's hard for me to form a bond when I'm pregnant because of my fear of losing the child. It's a little better for me when I know a bit more about who it is that is growing inside of me. I'm excited that in a few weeks we will know if Norah is getting a brother or a sister. I'm excited to be able to stop saying "it" or "the baby" (mostly because to me Norah is still such a baby!).
We don't care in the slightest whether it is a boy or a girl. We'd LOVE for Norah to have a sister and I'd love to get to use some of those adorable outfits that she has long grown out of. That said, we would be just as happy to welcome a little boy into our lives, it would be fun to parent both genders. As cliche as it is though, honestly we just want a happy baby either way.
