Thoughts from the Trail
I'm so excited! Like a kid on Christmas, well actually Christmas is still pretty exciting for me, so more like "I'm just as excited as I am on Christmas!" We made an investment in a Bob Revolution SE Duallie this week. We purchased on Amazon and it arrived yesterday. Did I say I'm excited?? We enjoy running but with two children and a single (crummy) jogging stroller it just wasn't happening as often as we would have liked. We were really starting to miss the days of going for multiple runs a week... and at the same time. We don't run the same pace but I like the comfort of knowing that Matt is out there somewhere and I'm not out there on the trail alone.
So today we went out for our first run with our yet to be named stroller (we're odd fun like that and enjoy naming personal items). The husband took them on their maiden voyage while I went out for my run solo (until he handed them off to me so he could finish the last mile of his run since I was done).
A few thoughts from the trail today:
1. I always hear people talking about how they do all sorts of thinking while running. They figure things out, they pray, they work thought situations. Not me. All I do is think, "Hm, I'm running.... yep... stillllll running. Oh look, a bird. Am I still running? Yep. That tree looks strange..." I've ALWAYS been like this. I think I could run for 3 hours and not have one productive thought.
2. Don't bother looking at your gps, you haven't gone as far as you might think. Just keep going and don't be too disappointed when you feel like you've gone 1.5 miles and you're only 1/2 a mile in.
3. It's great motivation to keep going when you are trying to not let an older gentleman 2.5 times your age pass you.
I plan on doing a full review on the stroller sometime soon.
