I Admit It

I admit it... Norah watches tv. Not all day long every day, but enough that she has a few shows that she likes (Dora & My Gym At Home). I actually don't feel bad about the My Gym At Home show. She gets pretty excited when it comes on and recently she has started to mimic the "leader". It's fun watching her put her arms out to the side and move them when the leader says to. My favorite though is  when they say, "Show us those muscles" and she curls her arms up and lets out a grunting "errrggg!"

I used to think I didn't want her to watch tv, and while sometimes it is a babysitter in the sense that it allows me to put away dishes, sweep the floor or heck - go to the bathroom, it also is helping her to understand things. I wouldn't say that it teaches her a lot, but the shows I let her watch reinforce some of the things I work on her with - such as where her toes are.

Do you let your little one watch tv? If so what shows? Do they have educational value?
