Snow!!

I'm not a cold weather person. I'm fine with fall and sweatshirt weather, but when that temp drops, I'm not thrilled. With that said, I DO like snow! (well you know, if I don't have to drive in it) So when it snowed the passed weekend my girl and I had to get out into it.

Last year she wasn't such a fan but this year she is all about it. I asked her something like 20 times if her hands were cold and she just kept saying no. They HAD to have been cold... we had gloves on but mine were cold, so I think she was too excited to be cold. We had a blast making a snowman and she woke up yesterday morning wanting to make another one :)

I had the husband take pictures of us from inside while he held Wes, so Norah was slightly confused as to where she should be looking :)

Have you gotten any snow yet  this year? Love it? Hate it? Don't care?

Thankful Thursday

Source
Spring! I'm so thankful that spring has finally arrived. I was starting to wonder if it would ever come. Spring is used for many metaphors in life and rightly so. Spring often feels like it will never come at the end of a long grueling winter that doesn't seem to want to let go. When Spring does finally come, at least for me, it makes everything better. I forget those slushy gross days, those long months where we couldn't do much outside (which is hard with an active toddler!) and those chilled to the bone days. My mood is so much more peppy and I just have a better outlook on life in general. Flowers start popping up, there are buds on the trees and oh my, is that GREEN grass?!

Spring is certainly a season of life as well. I know sometimes I feel like I'm in a very long winter. The sky is gray and everything around me feels dead and cold and I want to hid away from it all as I wait for those better sunny days. Then suddenly without warning I can start to see flowers popping up and I know that "spring" is coming in my life. It certainly gives me a new energy!

Everything is better when there are flowers around right?

Winter Fun

Last year we didn't see very much snow here in Indiana. In fact I think we got two small dustings and that was about it. This year though we currently have about 8 inches out there (we've had a lot of drifting though so some spots has just a little and others have 2 feet). Norah doesn't seem to be too fond of the cold (or maybe it's the bundling up she doesn't like) so we went out today during her nap to make a snowman. Sadly the snow is very dry and not good packing snow at all so our snowman plan failed a bit. We resorted to mini snowmen :) They are less than 6 inches tall.

I also thought it might be a good idea to make a snow angel. I'd just like to remind you that I am almost 9 months pregnant. I got stuck. I had to call out to the husband who was shoveling some snow at the end of our long driveway to come help me up. He was being a fuddy dud and didn't want to make a snow angel.

Norah did join in on the fun a few days ago, even though it wasn't her favorite.

I want to go outside!

In Florida loved getting to go lay at the beach in February if we wanted or walking at Disney's Boardwalk Resort in November. May-September was plenty hot but at least you COULD go outside if you wanted. I hate how when it's cold (too cold to have the baby out for more than a few moments) you can't be outside. This is my biggest cause of being homesick for Florida. I complain about it often... I know I do. I very much miss Florida. I wouldn't trade being close to family for it, but I miss it a lot.

I bring this up because today is so pretty. I look at our window and it makes me want to go outside and take pictures - then I stepped outside and realized I was nuts. Sometimes it is so deceiving when it is sunny in the winter.

We had to settle for taking some pictures inside today. She's been pretty happy today considering we kept her out pretty late last night going to the basketball game :)
